Owners

Brothers Michel and Leon Maes of Maastricht bring over 35 years of real estate expertise, marked by a commitment to quality and reliability. With a portfolio of successful redevelopment projects, six four-star hotels in Maastricht, and four international design awards, they are seasoned industry leaders.

Michel has resided at the château for 17 years, working tirelessly to secure its operating license. Now, their vision is to make Van Oys their crowning achievement.

Marc Alofs brings nearly 30 years of hospitality and management expertise. Known for his dedication to exceptional service and innovative leadership, he has spearheaded the development and operation of prestigious properties, including La Butte aux Bois (Relais & Châteaux) and Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp (Leading Hotels of the World).

Partnering with him is Stéphanie Stulens, former Maître de Maison at both iconic properties. Defined by her drive and decisive leadership, Stéphanie combines progressive thinking with a passion for mentoring ambitious colleagues. Together, they set the standard for excellence at Van Oys.
